Residents of Koisagat village in Kericho County staged protests on Wednesday following the shocking discovery of a middle-aged man’s severed head inside a sufuria in a local home. The victim’s body was later found in a thicket two kilometers away, intensifying the community’s anger.
The villagers accused a local businessman of being behind the murder and alleged police collusion, claiming the suspect has fueled a recent surge in insecurity.
One resident, Brian Ngetich, voiced the community’s frustration: “Mtu anashikwa leo, akifika hapa Tintila, hata sidhani kama wanafika Fort Tenan. Unapata amerudi, anasema, 'Mutanifanyia nini?' Sasa kama mtu anasema 'Mutanifanyia nini?' si atamaliza watu hapa?”
Kericho County Commander James Ngetich responded with a firm assurance: “Huyo jamaa tutammulika juu chini, mpaka chini ya maji, mpaka tumpate. Lakini nakuhakikishia, within the next two to three weeks, tuko na huyo jamaa.”
The incident has left the community in shock, raising serious concerns about safety and justice in the area. As investigations continue, residents are demanding accountability and swift action from authorities.
